Three-Week Illness Fatal To
76-Year-Old Memphian
Mrs. Zula Belk Rhodes of 644 Volintine died about 6 last night at her home after a three-week illness. She was 76. 2
Born near Rosemark, Mrs. Rhodes moved here 19 years ago from Lucy near Millington. She was a Methodist. She was the wife of James H. Rhodes.
She also leaves six sons, J. E. Rhodes and L. A. Rhodes of Memphis. Roscoe Rhodes of Hunstville, Ala., Monroe Rhodes of Florida, Gene Rhodes of Houston, Texas, and William Rhodes of Herbert, N. C.; two daughters, Mrs. May Delsi 3 of Memphis and Mrs. Bruce Staggs of Munford, Tenn. and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Kenny of Memphis. Haddad Funeral Home of Munford has charge.

2 Source: believed to be the "Memphis Commerical Appeal"; this article is undated and Zula's birthdate is unknown. However, information from Forest Hill Cemetery indicates that her grave marker gives a year of birth of 1885 and an interment date of 23 March 1958 which means that she was age 73 at her death, not 76 as the obituary states.
