Bass Guitar/Vocals
Some people are born to play the blues... Paul Drake was playing the
blues prior to his birth, much to the surprise and discomfort of his mother,
keeping the ol’ backbeat on her pancreas (a condition which she attempted
to alleviate with Mylanta©).
Not long after his birth, approximately 15 years later, Paul was introduced to Ralph Coleman, a local musician who
instilled in him a love for the music and a passing interest in hygiene. This relationship continued for many years
until, needing a bass player to back him up, Ralph taught Paul many lessons, for which Paul attends therapy to this
day. Ralph often finished the lessons with praise for his pupil and a dose of Mylanta©.
Paul performed a blues band in the 80's, distinguished only by its ever-changing name, allowing the band to disavow any connection to the previous incarnation. Reluctant to give up on music, he was nevertheless forced to when he became the sole remaining member of the band, and his solo blues bass act was listed by the American Psychiatric Association as a leading cause of depression in adults, and the primary reason for Mylanta© overdose in the United States . Despite
marriage, children, an exciting career, and a hobby consisting of driving
around town on trash night looking for "loot", Paul never gave up on the
blues. Shakedown has now given him a safe, non-narcotic cure for this obsession,
and for this he thanks them. |
