The Augusta Carpenters JAC will be accepting applications the third full
week of every month. The requirements are, must 17 years of age, have
a High School Diploma or GED. You must be physically able to perform the required duties.

NOTE: This training is for members of Local 283 UBC&JA

The following will be offered for Journeymen Skills Advancement, starting May 1998, as A full class is enrolled:

Transit
Optalign Laser Alignment
A 1-day UBC/OSHA Scaffold User Training Course is available, in addition to the 40-hr. Erectors/Dismantlers course.
An 8-hr. Hazardous Waste Refresher Class
Basic Blueprint Reading (8-hr)
Advance Blueprint Reading (16-hr.)
Interior Systems (Metal Framing, Drywall etc.) in near future

This is a familiar site throughout the United Brotherhood. Augusta Local 283 is taking advantage of the beautiful weather to construct the system scaffold out doors for the 40 hour Scaffold Qualification Class. This training is a requirement (OSHA Reg. 1926.454) for any person erecting or dismantling scaffolding. OSHA also requires training for scaffold users.
