A little about me:

I earned a BS in physics in 1957 at Syracuse University, and spent the next year at Wilkes Base, Antarctica measuring Earth's magnetic fluctuations. I did research at SU under Henry Levinstein on mercury doped germanium as an infrared detector. I had two courses given by Peter Bergman who had studied at Princeton under Albert Einstein. Maybe something rubbed off on me, but I doubt it. With an MS in Physics in 1962, I worked for Texas Instruments in Dallas for 32 years developing infrared sensitive arrays of detectors and arrays integrated with silicon integrated circuit readouts. These devices were used in infrared imaging sensors. I had a great research team and was recognized as a TI Fellow.

I enjoy reading astrophysics, marveling at the images taken with the space telescopes, and playing around with old wooden boats. Yes, restoring old wood boats makes for a great hands-on hobby.
