I belong to a group called wow_home
It's not just a WebRing, but a wonderful group of caring, sharing, loving
and helpful ladies that I'm delighted to call my friends.

We decided to make a virtual quilt. One of my quilt squares is shown below and
farther down the page, you will find a link to see the quilt in its entirety.
I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Being the first grandchild, yes, I was probably somewhat spoiled. But all the love I received was returned tenfold. My daddy was in WWII and mother and I lived with her parents while he was gone. WoWquilt2

Since I was just a baby and don't remember that time...let me share
some of my later wonderful memories.

Granddad was 6'2" tall and Mammaw was a mere 5'. My goal in life, when I was little, was to be as tall as Granddad -- sure glad I didn't make it. My very first memory is of him picking me up to put me on a horse....and I felt like I was going as high as the sky.

I wish my sons could have had more time with Granddad. They were young when he died... but at least they do have some memories of him.

On the other hand, Mammaw lived to the ripe old age of 92. She worshipped and adored my sons...yep, they knocked me right out of the number one spot. and I'm so glad to say that the love was totally returned. What wonderful stories we heard as we visited and listened to tales of her childhood and young married years.

Maybe that's why I enjoy being a grandmother now. I had the ultimate example of what a grandmother should be as I was growing up.
