| SCARLETTS DESIGNS:
In April 1999, we were blessed with a healthy baby girl and
I quit my full-time bookkeeping job of 11 years to stay home and raise her. Of course
I soon found out what many of you already know; motherhood is also a full-time job!
In my 'spare time' (LOL), I started auctioning handcrafted items as a means of earning
some pocket change. As our daughter grew, so did my sales, and thus, 'Scarletts Designs
was born. Raising our daughter at home and becoming a 'professional' artist have been
dreams come true for me, and every one of my customers helps keep those dreams alive.

PRICING:
My overhead costs are almost non-existent; I offer economical shipping without inflating
postage rates; I shop for inexpensive packaging materials to keep costs low; and, I rarely
take my labor time or cost into consideration. Why do I engage in such unsound business
practices? Simple: I am not a capitalist; I enjoy what I do; and I don't consider it 'work'.

SERVICE:
As a consumer myself, I like to provide my customers with the kind of service that I expect
but seldom get these days. That means being flexible, fair and friendly while listening and catering
to their needs. I treat every customer with courtesy and appreciation because they allow me to
stay home with my daughter and do what I love to do. I do not pay for any advertising or search
engine listings. Consequently, my success relies on satisfied repeat customers and their referrals
of family, friends and coworkers to me. My growing sales are proof that I am doing it right.

WORK'MOM'SHIP:
My apprenticeship started in the mid 1970's when my newly-retired grandfather
started a beaded jewelry business from his kitchen table. Back then (pre-internet), we peddled
his creations to small shops and took frequent trips to the wholesale gem district in San Francisco.
I was fortunate to learn the trade by his side and I've been creating jewelry ever since. As a
perfectionist with nearly 30 years of experience I do not sell anything that I would not love to
own or gift to my family or friends. You will not be disappointed, period.

FEEDBACK:
I have received personal e-mails from scores of satisfied customers, but you don't
have to take my word for it. You can read feedback from auction sites where my first loyal customers were established, as well
as from my website customers.
