Barrett Racing Enterprises (BRE) is Jeff and Sandi Barrett of Lake Worth, Florida.

Jeff drives a NHRA Competetion Eliminator G/D (VW powered Dragster), a Super Comp SB Chevy powered dragster and a BBC dragster. Sandi drives a 67 Karmann Ghia bracket car.

Jeff has built all the BRE cars, and he also maintains them with Sandi's help.

Jeff's NHRA record setting G/D dragster. Picture taken at Gator Nationals in Gainesville, FL. The front wheels are off the ground in this one too. Fortunately not as high as the ghia though.

G/D is a class in NHRA Competition Eliminator. A G/D is a Volkswagen powered dragster.
Normally aspirated. No NOS. No turbo.
Jeff set the NHRA record at 9.38 seconds for the quarter mile with a 108 c.i. engine.

BRE also won a Best Engineered Award at a NHRA Division Race for the VW Dragster.

Barrett Racing Enterprises campaigns on the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) National and Regional circuit. Competing in Competition Eliminator and Super Comp, BRE travels throughout the southeast. NHRA National Events have included The Gator Nationals (Gainesville, FL), The U.S. Nationals (Indianapolis, IN) (see pictures above), and The Southern Nationals (Atlanta, GA).

BRE has recently added the International Hot Road Association (IHRA) circuit to there trips. The have competed in several Division events and plan to continue that circuit this year.

BRE has traveled and raced in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee and Indiana.

Jeff recently sold his stock car, but here he is at ThunderCross Raceway in Okeechobee, FL. They have a class for VW bugs.

Jeff is a repeat winner at Thunder Cross. Congratulations Jeff!
Jeff was also the "Thunder Star" of the week at Thunder Cross.

BRE's other car: It's not a VW, but still fun. A small block Chevy (have to stay with the small motors!) powered dragster. Jeff competes in Super Comp on the NHRA circuit. 8.90 index. Jeff competes annually in Gator Nationals in Gainesville, Florida. Jeff was the number 6 qualifier out of 140+ cars last year.
