This unique approach not only makes healing effective but gentle as
well. Ayurveda is the only holistic science that need not warn people that
they may feel worse while the disease or toxins are being removed before
they feel better.
Ayurveda recognizes three elements that constituents the human body:
Air (Vayu), Fire (Pitta), and Water ( Kapha). Together these elements are
responsible for catabolic and anabolic metabolism. These three elements
exsist throughout the entire body, in every cell.
AIR ( VAYU):
It may be understood as Nerve force, electro-motor, physical activity
or that which is responsible for motion.
People who has this element predominantly, will have different
experiences depending on whether their element is balanced or in excess.
Balanced individuals will be adaptable, cheerful, have natural healing
tendencies, be thin framed, and very tall or very short. If this element
is in excess, they may be very thin, have dry skin, gas, constipation,
bone problem, or arthritis. They may talk very fast or easily become
tired. Mentally, they may quickly grasp concepts but soon forget them;
be anxious, fearful, worried, or nervous.
FIRE (Pitta):
It relates to internal fire, bile, body heat, digestive enzymes, physic-chemical, biological, metabolic, and endocrine systems.
Fire dominant individuals, when healthy and balanced, will be warm,
and have clear, penetrating thoughts. They will tend to be leaders
and/or athletic. They will be of moderate, muscular built, and will be
passionate. When they overheat, they may find themselves impatient, hot
tempered, or too critical. Physically, they will develop heat related
problems like ulcers, infections, rashes or acne, eye problems, or high
blood pressure.
Life Sap (Kapha or Ojas):
It fills the intercellular spaces of the body as connective tissues.
Examples of these tissues include mucus, synovial fluid, and tendons.
Water is responsible for gross structure of the body.
Water paramount individuals, when balanced, are loyal and calm.
Physically, they are big boned and strong, with deep-toned voices. When
in excess, they tend towards water excesses like water retention, being
overweight, or heaving bronchitis. Mentally, they will find themselves
lethargic, too attached, and sentimental.
