The Man Who Came to Dinner is a classic forties farce that combines a fast pace, bright characters and abounds with comedy that deliciously rolls off the tongue and assaults the eyes. Set during Christmas time the play follows the adventures of Sheridan Whiteside, a national radio celebrity. Invited one winter night for a rare in-person dinner appearance, Whiteside is welcomed into the Stanley home by slipping on a patch of ice on their doorstep and breaking his hip.

The play begins two weeks later, on the occasion of Whiteside emerging from his two weeks of sequestered bed-rest in the Stanley's library.

Nurse Preen (Beth Kelley) Mr. Whiteside (Frank Carder)

Mr and Mrs. Stanley (Kristin Wickson, Scott Barnes)

Excitement pervades the atmosphere as half of Mesalia drops by to witness the sight. Their hopes are brutally assaulted when they finally meet the true Whiteside - a sarcastic, sharp tongued cynical wit who quickly turns the Stanley household into chaos.

Maggie(Karen Cantoni), Whiteside (Frank Carder), Professor Metz (Ebony Manning)

June Stanley and her boyfriend, Sandy (Conner McKinley and Scott Terry)

Not only does Whiteside receive gifts of penguins, an octopus and 10,000 cockroaches that escape into the Stanley kitchen, but he also takes complete and tyrannical control of the household and even turns the respected Stanley children to disobedience!

From Sherry's point of view, everything is going well until a local newspaper man, Bert Jefferson, arrives and threatens to tempt away Whiteside's loyal secretary, Maggie Cutler. Serving devious, self-centered means, Whiteside begins to concoct an elaborate scheme to keep Maggie by his side, taking the audience on a wild romp through an evening of love, seduction and mystery amidst hilarious encounters with movie stars, a murderer, and a mummy that only lead to mayhem!
