What is this? It is flash tilt adapter, adjustable shoe mount,..., no matter how you call it, it has many uses in photography.
One example is close-up photography. Most flash units can be tilted up but very few units allow them to tilt them down. This adapter allows you to direct the flash to your subject is close up/macro photography.
PLEASE NOTE: This tilt flash adapter does not have a hot shoe contact. Therefore you need to connect the flash with the camera via a cord. I have another, more expensive tilt adapter in ebay that has a hot contact and you don't need any cable/cord/extension to use it.
