Why Medium Format?
In a time where everyone is turning to digital, I am making a turn to EVEN BIGGER film! I recently purchased a Sputnik stereo camera and I have already entered into Medium Format stereo. I am making plans for shooting weddings in 3d MF Stereo!
Why? Because the quality if unbelievable! If you have not seen a good medium format stereo slide in a good stereo viewer, then you have not seen stereo at its best!
Why now? I have been of course aware of the quality and impact of medium format stereo, but I have been turned off for a number of reasons: 1) I have always been very busy with 35mm stereo... too buy to find time for anything else, 2) lack of readily available, inexpensive, good-quality viewers made sharing MF slides difficult, 3) lack of simple & inexpensive stereo projection made MF difficult to share with an audience, 4) the number of people sharing MF slides is small and if you really want your work to be seen around the world in its original form then 35mm stereo is a better choice.
These reasons are still valid now, except for #2 which is now lifted thanks to this viewer! It is this viewer that pushed me over the edge. When I looked at a good slide through this viewer recently, I was sold!
