MANFROTTO Slide Bars!
Now you have a choice!
As many of you know, I have been a fan of the Bogen/Manfrotto slide bar for stereo photography for quite a while now. In my web page: http://home.att.net/~drt-3d/toys/bogen/index.htm I compare the B/M slide bar with others which are more bulky and cost more. The Bogen bar is much better, in my opinion.
Now I stock, not one but two types of B/M slide bars

Which one to get?
Both slide bars come in black anodized aluminum and have a nice durable plastic friction pad (has replaced earlier cork material). Both include 1/4" and 3/8" screws for the camera and 1/4" and 3/8" female treads underneath for the tripod. (Note: The standard slide bar comes with two sets of screws - one is a bonus)
For years I have been using the standard slide bar with very good results. It is small, compact and easy to use. But a number of my friends prefer the micrometric bar because of its accurate and wider movement. Note: by pressing a lever you can bypass the gear and move the platform quickly. When the lever is released, the platform will move slowly by using the screw adjustment.
If you do not need the wider slide range (120 vs. 80mm) and if accurate & graduated movement is important for you, then get the micrometric bar. Otherwise, the standard bar is fine.
