The following is the route Group II took.
Day 1
Date: Sunday, July 30th, 1978
Start: Brent Station.
Portages: 1
Portage distance: 5/8 miles Canoe distance: 6 5/8 miles
Total Trip Distance: 6.625 miles
Weather: Sunny, warm.
Terrain: Large lake, marsh.
Route: Southwest across Cedar Lake to the Nipissing River. 1000 yard portage. Continued west
to the 3100 yard portage to Luckless Lake..
Finish: Nipissing River, base of 3100 yard portage
Distance from Brent: 6 1/2 miles.

Day 2
Date: Monday, July 31st, 1978
Start: Nipissing River, base of 3100 yard portage.
Portages: 2
Portage distance: 2 miles Canoe distance: 3 miles
Total Trip Distance: 11.625 miles
Weather:Sunny, clear.
Terrain: Large Lake, flat trails.
Route: 3100 yard portage south to Luckless Lake. 450 yard portage to Catfish Lake. Canoed south to an
island in the southeast arm of Catfish Lake.
Finish: Isloand in Catfish Lake.
Distance from Brent: 7 miles.

Date: Tuesday, August 1st, 1978
Start: Island in Catfish Lake.
Portages: 0 \
Portage distance: 0 miles Canoe distance: 0 miles
Total Trip Distance: 11.625 miles
Weather: Sunny, clear.
Terrain: Wooded island in a lake.
Route: Remained onthe island for the entire day.
FinishIsland in Catfish Lake.
Distance from Brent: 7 miles.

Date: Wednesday, August 2nd, 1978
Start: Island in Catfish Lake.
Portages: 1
Portage distance: 1/20 mile Canoe distance: 3 1/2 miles

Weather: Sunny warm, night: cold, rain.
Terrain:Lakes.
Route: North on Catfish Lake. Northeast to 90 yard portage.
Finish: North shore Narrowbag Lake.
Distance from Brent: 4 1/2 miles.

Start:North shore Narrowbag Lake.
Portages: 1
Portage distance: 2 miles Canoe distance: 2 miles
Total Trip Distance: 19.175 miles
Weather: Clear, warm, sunny
Terrain: River, level trails, lakes.
Route: East to a 3170 yard portage. Down the Petawawa River to an abandoned log chute.
Finish:Log Chute, Petawaw River Rapids/Falls.
Distance from Brent: 2 1/2 miles.

Date: Friday, August 4th, 1978
Start:Log Chute, Petawawa River Rapids/Falls.

Portage distance: 3/5 miles Canoe distance: 1 mile
Total trip distance: 20.775 miles
Weather:Clear, sunny.
Terrain: River.
Route: Traveled north on the Petawawa River to a 280 yard portage, then
780 yards to Cedar Lake. Found a campsite onthe south shore. Steve and I went into Brent to see if
Bob's Group returned from the interior. Returned to campsite. Bob's Group made it to our campsite by late afternoon.
Finish: South shore Cedar Lake.
Distance from Brent: 2 miles.

Start: Southshore Cedar Lake, 1 mile east of 780 yd portage.
Portages: 0
Portage distance: 0 miles Canoe distance: 1 mile
Total trip distance: 21.775 miles
Weather: Clear, sunny, windy.
Terrain: Lakes, river, level trail.
Route:North across Cedar Lake to Brent Station.
Finish: Brent Station
Distance from Brent: 0 miles
