1972

Merger of Pomperaug Council #65 (1936-1972), Alfred W. Dater Council #78 (1939-1972) and Mauhewu Council #75 (1952-1972) to form Fairfield County Council #68 (1972-1997).

Leadership Corps (1972-1989) established by BSA to replace Senior Boy Scouts (1958-1971).

Chief Pomperaug Lodge #408 (1949-1972) merged with Mauwehu Lodge #389 (1948-1972) and Ponus Lodge #521 (1956-1972) to form Tankiteke Lodge #313 (1972-1998).
