The following is the best we can ascertain as the listing of Troop 64 Senior
Patrol Leaders (SPL's). In the history of Troop 64, SPL's were not always
documented. Parts of the listing have resulted from memory estimates. At present
we are continually updating this page.
Norman Shadick (1942-1943)
Joined Troop 64 in 1939. His father was the third Scoutmaster of Troop 64, while his brother Robert Shadick, became the first Eagle Scout of Troop 64. While SPL, the troop had a membership of 8 adult leaders and 30 Scouts. Died in a fire service accident while in Kansas, his name is placed on the memorial plate at Beach Memorial Park,
on May 28th, 1950.
William Powers (1943-1945)
Joined Troop 64 in 1940. Served two consecutive terms as SPL. Was a 1st Class Scout. Retired from Troop 64 by 1945.
Leroy Rendflash (1945-1946)
Joined Troop 64 in 1944. First Class Scout. Retired from the troop by that late 1940's.
Russell Hayden (1954-1955)
Joined Troop 64 in 1952. 2nd Eagle Scout in the Troop in 1954.
Raymond Quaintance (1955-1956)
Joined Troop 64 in 1951.
Attended the 1957 National Scout Jamboree, Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
A member of the troops 1st recorded canoe trip in 1958 to Saranac Lakes, Adirondack Mountains.
A veteran of Catamount and Camp Pomperaug.
Became the 3rd Eagle Scout of Troop 64 in 1958.
A member of OA Chief Pomperaug Lodge #408.
Retired from the Troop 64 in 1960. Became a Scoutmaster in the south. Preselty living in Connecticut.

William Fitzgerald (1960-1961)
Joined Troop 64 in 1955.
A veteran of Catamount and Camp Pomperaug. Became the 4th Eagle Scout of Troop 64.
Retired from the Troop in 1963.

William Ekstrom (1961-1962)
Joined Troop 64 in 1959.
Mark Hauslaib (1962-1963)
Joined Troop 64 in 1958.
Brett Hauslaib (1963-1964)
Joined Troop 64 in 1959. Veteran of Camp Pomperaug and Catamount. Served as SPL under the "Q-era".
Retired from the troop in the mid 1960's. Presently living in Tariffville, Connecticut USA.
Marty Berkman (1964-1965)
Joined Troop 64 in 1960. Graduated from THS in the class of "65". Retired from the troop in the mid 1960's. Presently living in Connecticut.
Lance Barney (1965-1966)
Joined Troop 64 in 1961.
Attended the 1964 National Scout Jamboree, Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
Confirmed SPL. Atained Eagle Scout in 1968. Retired from the troop in the 1969's.
Presently living in Canada.
Everett Bronski (1966-1967)
Joined Troop 64 in 1962. Reported to be a SPL in the mid 1960's.
Dennis Gleason (1967-1968)
Joined Troop 64 in 1965. Made Eagle Scout in 1970. Graduated from THS class of "72". Retired from the troop in 1973. Lives in Massachusetts.
Brandon Woolley (1968-1969)
Joined Troop 64 in 1964.
Awarded Eagle Scout in 1970.
Graduated from THS in 1971. Member of the 1972 Algonquin Expedidtion.
Veteran of Catamount and Camp Pomperaug. Retired from the troop in 1973 and
presently living in Maine.
Jeff Adzima (1969-1971)
Joined Troop 64 in 1967. Awarded Eagle Scout in 1972. Retired from the Troop in 1973.
Wayne Medoff (1970-1971)
Joined Troop 64 in 1966.
Awarded Eagle Scout in 1970.
Graduated from THS in the class of "72".
Retired from the troop in 1973.
Presently lives in the area.
Mark Schiro (1971-1972)
Joined Troop 64 in 1969. Awarded Eagle Scout in 1972. Graduated from THS class of "1974".
Took part in two Algonquin canoe trips.
Was a member of the 1976 expedition to
Algonquin Park as chronicled in The Algonquin Journals. Veteran of Camp Pomperaug. Retired from Troop 64 and is presently living in Melbourne, Florida.
Wayne Hobson (1972-1973)
Joined Troop 64 in 1969. Awarded Eagle Scout in 1973.
A veteran of Camp Pomperaug 1973.
Retired from the troop in 1974.
Graduated from THS in 1975. Presently living in Connecticut.
Alan Prysbylski (1973-1974)
Joined Troop 64 in 1970. Alan was active with the troop at Camp Pomperaug from 1970 till its close in 1974. He was a veteran of Catamount. Served one term as SPL before ataining the rank of Eagle Scout in 1976. Allen graduated from THS in 1976, then retired from Troop 64 in that same year. Presently living in Connecticut.
Richard Bernard (1974-1975)
Joined Troop 64 in 1972. A veteran of Catamount and Camp Pomperaug. Was a member of the 1976 expedition to Algonquin Park as chronicled in The Algonquin Journals. Retired from Troop 64 in 1976. Graduated from THS Class of '77'. Presently living in Connecticut.
Chuck MacMath (1975-1976)
Joined Troop 64 in 1972. A veteran of Camp Pomperaug and Catamount. Member of Order of the Arrow. Was a member of the 1976 expedition to Algonquin Park as chronicled in The Algonquin Journals. Retired from the troop in 1978. Graduated from Bullard Havens HS in 1978. Presently living in Connecticut. Still acitve with the AMC.
Richard Thompson (1976-1977)
Joined Troop 64 in 1973. Served as Patrol Leader of the Panther and Dragon patrols. A veteran of Camp Pomperaug (1973-1974). Was a member of the 1976 expedition to Algonquin Park as chronicled in The Algonquin Journals. Elected by the membership to serve as SPL on October 1st, 1976. Earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1977. Graduated from THS Class of '78. Elected to SPL by the membership on October 1st, 1976. Retired from Troop 64 in 1978. Presently living in Flordia.
Bill Pfohl (1977-1978)
Joined Troop 64 in 1976. Served one term as SPL. Was a veteran of the 1978 Expedition to Algonquin Park. Graduated from THS in the Class of '82'. Retired from the troop in 1982. Presently serving as pastor in New York State.
Charles Waldo Jr. (1978-1979)
Joined Troop 64 in 1975. Was a member of the 1976 expedition to Algonquin Park as chronicled in The Algonquin Journals.
A veteran of the 1978 expedition to Algonquin Park, 1984 expedition to La Verendrye Provincial Park.
Became an Eagle Scout in 1981. OA Lodge member #313. Presently living in Connecticut.
John Knopic (Early 1980's)
Joined Troop 64 in 1978. Graduated from THS in the class of '81'.
Richard P. Kitchener (1986-1987)
Joined Troop 64 in 1979. He was the last known SPL of the troop. Was a member of the 1981 canoe trip expedition to the Machias River in Maine. Graduated from THS in the class of '86'. He retired from the troop in 1987.
