Richard & Kelly Steed

Richard as a Revolutionary War Militia Man &
Kelly as the hospital matron from Fort Howard,
Wisconsin Territory, 1836
Richard and I are convinced that there is a massive illiteracy problem in the United States because people just can't seem to pronounce our surname name STEED correctly. We get called Stead, Steen and when Richard was younger, he'd get mail addressed to Richard Stud. He, of course, rubbed that into his older brothers. The name is STEED, a male horse, pronounced with a long eeeeee. What's so hard about it?
