Back

To

School

They all are gone,

every one.

The beds are made,

the dishes done.

I've dusted twice.

It should be nice,

no drinks to get,

no kids to fret,

no bothering

with morning snacks;

just time to think,

kick back, relax.

I'll sit a while

in calm repose.

With entire house

so neat and bright,

perhaps I'll doze.

Oh, no! I can't --

it's too darn quiet!
