Autumn
Visit
Autumn's come to my house;
the leaves fall everywhere.
The heat of summer's ended;
there's coolness in the air.
Autumn leaves are awesome
in multicolored hue.
The picture is enhanced by
a hazy sky of blue.
The splendor of the season
is so wonderful and grand.
What a vivid, bold creation
by the Master's hand!
The pumpkin's in the window;
it seems to smile and say,
"Welcome now to Autumn,
and have a lovely day!"
I see the squirrels playing;
they are so cute and sweet,
as busily they gather
some acorns they can eat.
The trees are sporting colors
of red and brown and gold,
and I am so enchanted
by the scene that I behold!
Oh, how I love her visit!
I wish that she could stay,
but soon cold winter's breath
will blow her far away.
But I will bid her welcome
when next fall rolls around,
and once again her brilliant leaves
will vividly abound.
