These pictures were taken November 27, 1998 at Lake Townsend, a city watershed for Greensboro, NC. We are in a severe drought, and have only a couple of month's water left. Please note, that we did have a fairly heavy, but brief, rain two days ago. As you can see, it did little to relieve the situation. It is not unusual for our water supplies to get a bit low at the end of each summer. These shortages are usually replenished with the tropical storms that come up the Atlantic coast every fall. This year, the steering currents diverted all significant rainfall.

Oh, by the way, the pictures were taken with a Sony Mavica FD81.

The lake bed in many places

Was approx. 6 ft. deep the entire cove
