Hi! I'm Ruth Anne, and welcome to my homepage!

I'm so glad you stopped by! I love visitors! I don't stand on a bunch of formalities here, so just make yourself at home. There's plenty of iced tea and soft drinks in the fridge and the coffee's always hot and fresh, so help yourself! Now, prop your feet up, get comfortable, and let's have a nice visit!

I'm a North Carolina native. I've lived in this beautiful state all my life. (I'll take you on a tour of North Carolina in just a minute!) I've been married to Wayne for 37 years. We have two wonderful grown, married children, Randy and Sharon.

Sharon and her husband, Kenny, presented us with our first grandchild, Brandon, on December 14, 1994. This little boy stole our hearts right from the beginning. He's got these big brown mischievous eyes, and a contagious smile that will melt you in a heartbeat!

Randy and his wife Leslie, blessed us with grandbaby number two, Susie, on July 29, 1997. She's another little brown eyed beauty and has a smile that lights up her whole face.

Then, on August 11, 1999, Randy and Leslie blessed us with grandbaby number three, Noah.  He's a beautiful baby, and he's growing like a little weed.

Can you tell I'm proud of my grandbabies (smile)? Wanna meet them? Click on the flower below to visit their pages!

        My Hobbies

I am a Cairn collector. Cairn Studios is located in Davidson, North Carolina. So far, I have pieces created by two of their artists: Tom Clark and Tim Wolfe. Tom Clark creates sculptures of Forest Gnomes and many real life and fictional characters. Tim Wolfe does the little lovable creatures that live in the forest. Visit their website and fall in love with these little collectibles yourself!

When I was a child, my grandmother always set up a little miniature village under her Christmas tree. It fascinated me! Grandma's house was one of those old two-story homes with really high ceilings. This allowed her to set up her tree on a big table, and have plenty of room to set up her little village (complete with houses, tiny people, animals, trees, and a miniature electric train). It has taken me a few years, but I am now collecting pieces for my Dickens Village. I hope my grandchildren will get as much pleasure out of my little village as I did when at my grandmother's house. Photography is a hobby that my husband and I share. We got a new digital camera for Christmas last year, so we have been having a ball taking pictures of some beautiful places. We have lots of pictures online for you to enjoy! You'll see three beautiful historic southern plantations, some magnificent gardens, an old grist mill that was built in the 1800's and is still fully operational using a water wheel, and tour historic Charleston, South Carolina. New pictures are being added all the time, so check back often! Just click on the link below to see them.

I've always loved flowers.  I've never met a flower I didn't like.  But with my busy lifestyle of working and raising kids, I never never seemed to have the time (or energy) to pursue the flower garden I had dreamed of.  Well now, the kids are grown and I've retired, so our gardening adventure began in the spring of 1999.  Our yard was really in need of some landscaping, so anything we did had to be an improvement.  *grin*  This project has been the most back breaking, at times frustrating, and the most rewarding experience we could ever imagine.  When the gardening bug bites, get ready to be totally addicted!  To us, our garden is a work in progress; we are constantly planning for new additions.   But in the meantime, we would like for you to take a stroll around our little "backyard retreat".  Take your time, enjoy the flowers, and see some of the butterflies who have visited us!

Let's get very serious for a moment. There is a special cause I believe in, and that's the Organ Donor Program. If you have already signed up to be a donor, God bless you! If you haven't, click on the link below and meet heaven's new angel, Jessica. Her story is so inspiring.
