Dick and Linda Straub developed this site. It commemorates a Cohen fan dinner gathering at Nulli's Restaurant in Manchester, the Manchester Community-Technical College Play: Came So Far for Beauty, and a cast & fan post-theater party at the East Hartford Holiday Inn. That section also shows you images of a Sunday whirlwind tour of Manhattan that highlights a few places with Leonard Cohen significance.

Cohen fans in attendance May 2, 1998, included Geoff Gompers, Lizzie Madder, Vicki Perlman, Karen Weitzner, and April Yergin as well as Dick. Many supportive family members added to the fun. (Donna Gompers, Rubin Perlman, Michael Weitzner, Linda Straub, and Perlman's and Weitzner's children.)

Special thanks also to Clark Bowlen, Kathy Keena, Deborah Simmons, and Steve Starger, adapters of Came so Far for Beauty ... and the entire cast and crew

Dick and Linda have side-by-side personal computers, and share interest in travel, dining, theater, parties, and computers. Dick is the Cohen fan. Linda is the computer nerd.

Jarkko and Rauli Arjatsalo are partly responsible for feeding Dick's Cohen obsession, through their comprehensive website:

http://leonardcohenfiles.com/frame.html. EVERYBODY KNOWS that this site is the ultimate resource for following Leonard and his fans.

Another site that should be visited by any Cohen fan is Marie’s “Speaking Cohen” page: http://members.aol.com/megan2c2b/index.html

Follow the Cohen WebRing for many other fascinating sites.

There is also an entertaining weekly fan chat that takes place on Sundays. See Jarkko’s site for information.

Biographical Information

Dick and Linda live with Bandit, who rules our home, in Convent Station, New Jersey. Both of us entered the wonderful world of retirement July 1, 1998. Bandit says he will keep his current daily assignment (make sure the bed don't move !! ). See Personal Interests below for a glimpse of the top dog.

We have each put in 30 years of service in telecommunications. Dick's last assignment was Director of Regulatory Matters for NECA, Inc., and Linda was the Corporate Archivist for AT&T.

Some highlights of our retirement have involved Cohen travels – to Paris in April of 1999, and the Montreal Event in May of 2000. We also invested heavily in Dick’s Cohen collection – now have first editions of most all books.

We have formed a home-based company for the purpose of trading collectibles (not Cohen!) and various other endeavors that meet our interests. Richlind Ventures, L.L.C. is our name. Will provide adequate notice to our Cohen contacts when we are ready to take the business public – IPOs are so very exciting!
