IOMW 2008
Data Recognition Corporation, New York University, and JAM Press are pleased to announce that IOMW 2008 will be held in New York City at New York University on March 22 and 23, 2008, just prior to the AERA annual meeting. Hotel and dinning information will be available on this website in the near future. Instructions for travel to NYU will also be available.
This is the fourteenth meeting of IOMW, a series of biannual meetings that originated in 1981. The first IOMW was organized by Ben Wright and held at the University of Chicago. Paper and symposium applications will be accepted beginning in September 2007. IOMW 2008 will feature 12 presentation sessions with approximately 50 presentations. The deadline for paper and symposium proposals was January 18, 2008. The preliminary program will be announced on February 5, 2008. Paper and Symposium Submission
Information on the paper and symposium submission process is available below. Please click on the appropriate button to download a printable pdf form for paper or symposium submission. There will be one plenary sessions and 6 concurrent sessions each day with a maximum of 5 presenters in each session. Each session will be 90 minutes in length, allowing each presenter approximately 14 minutes per presentation, with 20 minutes at the end for questions and answers. Individual papers will be grouped into a session with papers sharing common themes. Symposia based on 4 to 5 commonly themed papers will be considered.

Conference Registration
Conference registration is now open. The registration fee is $40 USD (early) and $50 USD (late). The conference registration process is not online this year. The links below will lead you to a printable pdf that can be completed and returned by e-mail or surface mail. The final date for early registration is March 14, 2008. Onsite registration will be accepted. Checks, VISA, and MasterCard payments are accepted for registration fees. Final Conference Program
The final conference program is now available in a printable pdf. Please click on the final conference program button below for a printable version of the program. Currently there are 47 paper presentations and two computer program demonstrations scheduled. It looks to be a very informative conference. The final program contains abstracts for all of the presentations. Small changes in the program are possible at any time.

Meeting Location and Campus Map
IOMW 2008 will meet on the NYU campus in rooms 713 and 714 of the Silver Center, 100 Washington Square East, New York, NY 10003. A NYU Campus map is available as a printable pdf by clicking on the NYU Campus Map Button below. With the high security in New York City, it will be necessary to present a photo ID to enter the NYU classroom buildings. Each participant's name will also have to appear on the attendee list provided to security. If you are planning to use on-site registration, it will be necessary to e-mail the organizing committee by March 17 to have your name added to the attendee list. IOMW Dinner Information
The IOMW 2008 dinner will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday, March 22, 2008. The dinner will be held at the Focacceria at 87 MacDougal Street. The restaurant is 6 to 8 blocks from the Silver Center. The exact location is shown on the campus map that can be accessed in a printable pdf form above. The food is Italian and dinner will consist of shared appetizers, a choice from three salads, a choice from three pastas or three entrees, a choice from three desserts, and a glass of wine or other non-alcoholic beverage. The cost will be $50 per person. The restaurant is on the small side and we have reservations for 30 places. Reservations are available on a first-come serve basis.
