April 2005
I just talked to the Mohave county
appraiser concerning some property I own in Meadview, Arizona. It is
a nice 1+ acre lot full of Joshua trees. I thought I could talk them into
lowering the land appraisal and thus my taxes since I do not get to vsit very
often. "No way," said the Appraiser. She went on to inform me
that this was the 3rd fastest growing county in the country next to the Las
Vegas and Phoenix areas.
I told her that it was a water-haul area and nobody would
be too interested. She told me that most of the area was water-haul
and that didn't stop thousands of residents from putting in storage tanks
and having water delivered to their homes. In addition to that, there
is a new bridge being constructed just below Hoover Dam that will really make
my property more accessable and more valuable...
This is about as close as you can get to the Grand Canyon and actually
own property. It is at the end of the canyon where the Colorado river
becomes Lake Mead which is formed by Hoover Dam...
This is high-desert area where the temperature is warm
in the summer and not too cold in the winter. The area is surrounded
by national park land of Lake Mead National Park. You can fish, boat,
hike, or rent a 4 wheeler and explore the wild expanses for a day or longer...
The lot #29, Block D, Unit #7 is
one of the nicest in the section. There are several permanent residences
in the Unit #7. Each unit is about a square mile (500+ lots) section which
is surrounded by national park land.
The actual address is:
