  2. Amblyopia — Newborn Lazy Eye is a problem which can cause lifelong "blindness" in one eye if not identified early during infancy. (If found during the newborn series of physical exams it can be entirely prevented.)
  3. Congenital Dislocated Hips — Congenital hip dysplasia can cause lifelong hip and gate problems if not found and corrected early. It is one of the many problems looked for during the newborn "screening" series of exams.
