This car had been raced for about 10 years with a vintage club and a few SCCA events in Texas. An unfortunate trailer towing incident led to some serious roof and structure damage. This allowed us to purchase the car at a reasonable price in as-is condition. At first we thought all that was required was a new roof skin and rocker panel but we ended up re-engineering almost everything in the car. The following shots show the "before" version of the car.
The link at the bottom of the page details the rebuilding process.

The car looked great in this shot. Overall this car was excellent. No rust, no major crash damage. Being from Connecticut, this is unheard of in a car this old.

| This shot shows the roof damage. The A-pillar is actually bent downward and the inner structure is crushed. I think the roll cage helped limit the damage. |

| Some things we didn't like about the car....a roll cage that was so low your head was above it....a strange arrangement of cheap gages ....and a fire bottle release you couldn't reach when strapped into the car. | |
On to the rebuilding process.....
