Abstract It can be rough for new businesses as well as established companies to compete in today's world, but one group dedicated to maximizing the value of technologies owned by public and private organizations has stepped in to help sharpen the American entrepreneur's competitive edge. The Center for Technology Commercialization (Westborough, MA) is a non-profit, private corporation providing access through a combination of government and commercial contracts to a nationwide network that assists American industry in acquiring and commercializing new technologies. CTC provides data, market analysis, and patent and technical document searches to help find and evaluate candidate technologies. Building on its connection with NASA, the center has extended its model to facilitate the crossover transactions such as licensing, partnering and joint ventures between companies, and between companies and federal agencies.
