Abstract Sample Time Acceleration Technology bridges the gap between SL samples and traditional rapid/bridge tooling for a garage door opener manufacturer. STAT is a rapid and composite tooling hybrid that can use a number of base materials. The molding process itself is specially adapted for STAT and can injection mold almost any plastic resin. Single stereolithography samples are acceptable for checking form and fit of a design, but can be restricted in most functional or agency approved tests. RTV tooling also has durability issues regarding stress and strain, and delivery times are usually comparable to traditional rapid tooling at a lower cost. The STAT process also can handle any kind of resin except for hot oil runner resins and thermosets. The process is now being applied in the medical, computer, and fiber optic and telecommunication industries. XX
