Abstract The world of art has discovered the world of digital technology and the once clearly distinct disciplines of CAD drawing and sculpture now share fundamental similarities in that they depend on the same software and even the same information to get their jobs done. Digital technology is providing everyday artists with the tools previously available to NASA and Disney design teams. In fact, the power of the computer has not only enabled engineers but also the artist to render images well beyond the capacities of what their pencils, charcoals and brushes could once accomplish. Nobody seems to have a clearer vision of what computer art entails more than artist Robert Lazzarini. Working from his studio, Lazzarini's creations show digital technology's wide range of use and potential. Much of his work revolves around sculptures of common objects created using 3-D CAD and computer files that translate into rapid prototyping. XX
