Abstract By retrofitting systems with new laser sources, RP users are not only extending the life of the systems, but they are experiencing the benefits of ultraviolet diode-pumped solid-state lasers. It is now possible to upgrade from argon ion lasers to solid-state lasers in older field-deployed stereolithography systems. With new laser sources, users are not only extending the life of their systems, but they also are experiencing benefits of lower cost of operation, maintenance-free design and rugged industrial construction that result in time and cost savings.
