Abstract By reviewing the working principle of the RPM(Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing) and especially the FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) technique, the paper presents a new rapid prototyping system - AJS system(Air-pressure Jet Solidification), including its fundamental construction, building technique and advantages. Through the experiment, it is proved that using air pressure as squeezed power is reasonable in the AJS system, it can be used not only for rapid prototyping such as the traditional FDM technology, but also for metal forming and rapid engineering parts.
