Abstract The infiltration of alumina sol into alumina-boron oxide ceramic composites were studied. Aluminium-boron oxide composite bars were fabricated by selective laser sintering (SLS) process and immersed in aluminium sols for infiltration. X-ray diffraction analysis and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to analyze the dried infiltrated samples. Effects of infiltration with alumina sol on bend strength of aluminium-boron oxide composite samples were discussed as a function of energy density. (Edited abstract) 15 Refs. (Auth abstract) XX
