Bobby Bare

Bear Family has issued Bobby Bare's entire recordings for Mercury
on a three-disc box set. Bare was only at Mercury for two years, but
that time did produce a handful of his finest singles, including
"How I Got to Memphis," "Please Don't Tell Me How the Story Ends,"
and "Come Sundown," a duet with Kris Kristofferson. Though the
music is quite good, the set remains of interest only to completists, since
there is simply too much music for casual listeners. Nevertheless, it's a necessary purchase for devoted Bare fans.
