UW Alumni Club of Rochester - April Meeting Minutes

Call to order by Pres. Terry Schardt, 7 board members in attendance

March minutes presented by Grant Johnson and approved

March treasury report presented by Randy Horn and approved


Committee Reports

Membership Drive:
Shelly, Gerry, and Ken B volunteered to call

UW Marching Band
- Spring concert 4/17, extra tickets available
- Club are having difficulty finding an local organization to sponsor event. John Boray. recommended we discontinue investigation for this year.

Scholarships
- Club has a list of SE Minnesota seniors accepted to UW. Approximately 115 students from 8 local schools, 154 from SE Minnesota. Club sent this list to counselors with information
about our scholarships.
- Committee will follow-up to collect scholarship applications after the April 15th deadline
- Committee will review scholarship applications, Thursday, April 29th
- Club will ask previous winners from last year for a letter which will be part of a "Campus Advice" booklet for this year's scholarship recipients.

Founders' Day
- Mike Lorenz confirmed that he will attend and bring memorabilia
- Club has received memorabilia from 8 of 9 athletic department
- Baseball caps for scholarship winners, donated by Randy Horn
- WAA will send out invitations to all alumns in SE MN , our Club will send out invitations in the Newsletter. There will also be invitations online on the Club website.

Newsletter
- Spring Newsletter highlighting Founder's Day will be mailed around around 5/1

Web page
- New content on web page! www.uwalumni.com/rochester/

Public Relations
- Committee will call members after newsletter is sent.


Club Business
- Generated list of Wisconsin based companies to approach about sponsoring a scholarship.
- Discussion about purchasing Football season tickets to resell.
- WAA football ticket requests due by 4/10/04
