The adventures and memories of
OzRog
You are visitor

For those of you who happen accidentally onto this page... This is a collection
of a few pictures of my recent travels, put together upon request from a few of
my schmoozer type friends...
January 1997 I returned to the land where I was born and raised,
Cameroon, West Africa. While there, I revisited many places from my childhood.
Tello Falls, the Black Buffalo Game Preserve, and other places frequented in my
youth. These pictures make up the first three pages.
The picture to the
right is the first of many to come. Beautiful Tello waterfall about 30 miles...
or 2 hours drive time on "great" roads...

And to the left... a group of giraffes, more curious than scared.
Giraffes are rare in the Black Buffalo Wildlife Preserve where these were seen;
though they are plentiful in other parts of Cameroon and Africa.
Most people have been keeping up with the news and know all about Kosovo
and the crisis there. Recently an e-mail
came across an e-mail list from a Missionary currently living through the
crisis. Definitely gives a new perspective on the current crisis and our role
in it as Americans.
Some of you have been asking for an update on "Rog's
travelling circus, 10 April, 1999" so here it is. Enjoy, for
what it's worth.
I spent 1998 in Sydney, Australia,
working, playing, making new friends and taking a few pictures here and there.
The most memorable is shown below. Click the picture for a closer look at this
picture and some other Sydney scenes.

Here is a listing and description of what is also available deeper in the
depths of this home page. I have tried to give a fairly accurate description of
the viewable pictures and download time. Please keep in mind, my estimate is
based on how many jpgs appear on the page and their size compared to the title
page. Enjoy.
- Not to far from where I
grew up in Cameroon is a swimming hole
, secluded and quiet except for the singing of birds and movement of wind
through the leaves.
Load time: 2 medium sized pictures.
- And now, the newest
link... some real wildlife...
some I don't even know the name of, or can only give it to you in French!
If you know the names of these beautiful beasts... please, pass it on to
me and I will gladly update the page. Enjoy!
Load time: 3 medium pictures, 1 medium+.
- West of Sydney Australia,
the Blue Mountains with some of
the most spectacular views imaginable... unless of course your browsing
internet pages made with cheap scanners.
- South of Sydney, the Royal National Park a little on the arid
side, but some incredible ocean views... too bad you're not allowed to
build there.
- After a long year of
working at Westpac I took some time off to see other parts of my wonderful
host country, Australia. Thanks to Jodes and her trusty Hilux, I was able
to travel North in good company to see Fraser
Island.
- Of course one of the
fantastic assets of Australia is the plentiful diving.
Several good spots can be found at Jervis Bay, 2 1/2 hours South of Sydney,
and of course the Great Barrier Reef.
- If you enjoy hiking, there
is always the Overland Track in
Tasmania, which will really trip your trigger!.
- And for some wild,
friendly, adventure packed travel, there is always New
Zealand just around the corner.
- And for those of you who
might be aviation buffs. Herein
will you find pictures of "the check ride", and a few views from
the air here and there.
