Where in the World is Emily? A Travel Journal.
In April, 1997, I quit my job (mechanical engineer), packed up Scooter (my Honda Civic)
and set out to drive around the United States. I originally intended to travel for six months, but when six months was up, I just kept on traveling. The whole trip ended up lasting almost two years. Click on the little camera to see a photo of me and Scooter.
As I traveled, I published a little newsletter (egotistically named "Where in the World is Emily?") about my journey. I described the things I did and the places I went, and included photocopied ticket stubs, foreign money, and other trinkets. This is the on-line version of that newsletter.
Choose a particular issue by clicking on the colored boxes at the left. I recommend starting with #1 since they go chronologically. If you're looking for some place in particular, you can also jump to any city I visited. Many of the images in the newsletter can been enlarged by clicking on them. And whereever you see a little camera, I have a photo available. Just click on the camera to see the photo.
