What are these? [Jerry Ruby]
These are Swedish stamps, found in Facit special catalogue from 1988. They're Reply-Stamps for Military Letters; there are 12 difficult stamps and many varieties of them. The first stamps came in 1929 the last came in 1963; I think these two stamps are from 1939. [Vagn Andersen]
These stamps are cut out of Sweden Military envelopes. They were used by Military Corps in many regions of the world, where they were sent for Peace Operations (I supposed under U.N. or Society of Nations). I suppose FRANK envelopes (no cost to send letters to their family to Sweden). I have some envelopes from: SAAR year 1935 "Swenska bataljonen" postmark (listed by Michel specialised), Congo 1962 "FN Bataljoen", Egypt 1962 "FN Bataljonen" and Palestine 1958 U.N. Emergency Force, surely others exist. [Fabio Vaccarezza]
Swedish Military reply stamps. The Facit Catalog will tell you more than you'll ever want to know about the several "look-alike issues". [Jim Simon]
Reply Stamps (Cutouts) from Swedish Military Letters. Since 1929, the stationery used by military personnel incorporate indicia such as these, which the recipient can cut out and use to frank a reply. They are listed in Facit. [Jay Carrigan]
Item 191. Sweden is listed in the Michel Catalog under Swedish Military Stamps (Militarpostmarken). [Paul]
From 1929-1985 Swedish soldiers were supplied with free envelopes(Militarbrev) to write home. included was a reply stamp to be used by the respondant to reply free. Your picture is of one of these reply stamps. [Stetson Thomas]
