| I am told the Philippine Islands have no precancels, and these look-alikes are really security control overprints, used for revenue protection in a similar manner to perf-ins. Where can I find a list of the 50 or so towns or businesses that used them? |
| The most recent listing of the Philippine Commercial Overprints is an Article by Arnold Warren in the American Philatelist 63(10): 765-774 (July 1950). I have not seen the article myself, but have read several items that reference the Warren article. [G. Spicer] |
