Showboater Alumni
Were you a former Showboater; a parent of a former
Showboater; dated a Showboater, or had a secret crush on a Showboater?
Then the 2009 Showboaters are looking for you! It is “Big Show” time
again and the Showboaters are in preparation for this year’s show, and
the “Tradition of Excellence” established long ago continues. Using
professional lighting, sound, and video, the “Big Show” is no ordinary
high school production.
In association with the SGHS Choir Booster Club, the Showboaters are forming an Alumni Association to support the continuation of this outstanding program. Memories, friendships, and experiences shared have likely lasted long since your Showboater days. The Alumni group will give you an opportunity to reestablish those old or not so old friendships. A website is being developed to share memories, post pictures, reconnect with former Showboaters through an Alumni directory, and support the “Tradition of Excellence” that is the South Garland Showboaters. Economic instability has hurt everyone, and the Showboaters are not immune. In order to insure the successful continuation of the program and Big Show, we are seeking the help of the Alumni. We need the assistance of those that established the Showboater tradition.
There are a number of ways you can help:
1. $20 donation, Name and graduating year in program
2. $35 donation, Name and graduating year in program and 2 tickets to the show
3. $50 donation, Name and graduating year in program, 2 tickets to the show and a Showboater t-shirt.
4. $100 donation, Name and graduating year in program, 4 tickets to the show, Tshirt and video.
5. Purchase one of the Show program advertisements for your business or dedicate it to your graduating class, add pictures, and challenge other classes to do the same.
Your tax deductible donations may be made in cash; checks made payable to GISD or visit the website at www.sghschoir.com and follow the links to the Showboater website and make your credit card payment through Paypal.
