Gorham Mountain is included on our tour not because the mountain is all that majestic, but because it offers great views, without crowds, after a reasonable hike to the top. At 525 feet, the mountain is over 1,000 feet lower than Cadillac mountain, but is angled such that its views of Otter Point (above), Sand Beach, the "Beehive", and Egg Light are perhaps better than those from Cadillac. To hike the mountain you can park in a lot off the Park Loop Road. The hike, each way, takes about an hour and is almost totally over rock.

The view toward Cadillac and Dorr mountains from the summit of Gorham mountain.

The view of Otter Cove, just to the right of Otter Point.

In this picture you can see Sand Beach, the top of Great Head, Egg Light (directly above Sand Beach), and Schoodic Point (also a part of Acadia), across the bay at the far right.

This view includes Otter Point, Otter Cliffs, the opening into Otter Cove, and Thunder Hole.
