Jordan Pond is one of the most beautiful spots in Acadia National Park, while the Jordan Pond House is a great place to grab lunch after a morning hike, fresh-out-of-the-oven popovers in mid-afternoon, or a relaxed dinner in the evening. The view above is from the observation deck on top of the restaurant and gift shop. In addition to the "bubbles" seen above, high mountains border the pond on both the left and right.

This is one of the many bridges for the carriage paths that were built around 1920. It's situated at the south end of the pond. The carriage paths can be hiked or used for bicycling.

To the right is a portion of the hiking trail that circles the pond.  While generally flat, the trail isn't as easy as might be thought and takes a couple of hours to traverse.

Many trails originate or can be reached from the parking lots at the Jordan Pond House. This creek is fed by Jordan Pond, which also serves as the source of drinking water for the surrounding towns.

While not overly attractive from the outside, the Jordan Pond House main dining room is comfortable and has good views, a large stone fireplace, hardwood floors, and exposed beams. Popovers and lunch are served on the tables outside.
