Please Note -- I am not directly related to the
Dionne quintuplets or to Marcel Dionne, the hockey player. We're
very, very distant cousins.
I follow the line of Jean-Baptise DIONNE, son of Jean DIONNE and
Charlotte (Marie-Charlotte) MIGNOT (MIGNAULT, MIGNEAULT),
grandson of Antoine DIONNE, born circa1641 in France and
Catherine YVORY (IVORY), born circa 1644 in France. The
quintuplets follow the line of Antoine DIONNE, brother of
Jean-Baptiste, son of Jean DIONNE and Charlotte MIGNOT (MIGNAULT,
MIGNEAULT), grandson of Antoine DIONNE and Catherine YVORY.
As far as I can tell, DIONNE was GUYONNE in France. It was
somehow changed to DIONNE when Antoine and Catherine emigrated to
New France (Quebec) circa 1661.
