Parish of St. HelenaBond to Perform Marriages
Samuel Rankin and Elijah Settoon
02 February 1829Know all men by these presents that I, Samuel Rankin, Principal and Elijah Settoon, Security, are held and firmly bound unto the Government of the said State in Just and full sum of Two thousand dollars, good and lawful money, of the aforesaid State, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, Executors, administrators, and assigns, firmly by these presents.
In testimony whereof, we have here unto signed our names and set our seals, this second day of February A. D. 1829.
Now, therefore the condition of the above obligaton is such that whereas the above bounden Samuel Rankins, as Justice of the Peace, has this day been authorised to celebrate marriages in said Parish.
Now if he, the said Rankins, shall well and truly perform all & singular the duties imposed on him as such, agreeable to the Laws of said State, then this obligation to be null and void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
