Witness to Henry Arnold document
24 October 1831Be it remembered that on this Twenty fourth day of October in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty one, personally appeared, John Boganwright who produced the following Instrument of writing, and requested the same to be admitted of record, and which is in the words and figures following, To wit:
Know all men by these presents that I, Henry Arnold of the parish of St. Helena, and State of Louisiana, have this day bargained, sold, conveyed, and delivered for and in consideration to me in hand paid the sum of Two dollars to John Boganwright a Certain Tract or Parcell [sic] of Land Containing five acres Branded? as follows, Viz:On the north east Corner of the Section of Land whereon I now reside and including the house and all the buildings, the said Boganwright is now making which tract or parcel of Land I warrant and defend unto the said Boganwright his heirs, Executors, Administrators &c firmly by these presents which Land I warrant and unto the said Boganwright his heirs and assigns forever, against me my heirs, Executors, and all lawful claim, or claims whatever.In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 24th October A.D. 1831.
