Perry
is a 2 to 4 year old 23 pound buff male. He is neutered, current on shots, and vet
checked. His cherry eyes have been tucked, and he's "good to go".
He had been a stray in an urban shelter, and Rescue got him when his time ran out.
Perry doesn't have a lot of hair. His ears, however, had mats the size of golf balls
on them and we had to trim them down. He behaved fine for that and for getting his
face clipped.
He came to us quite fearful. "Good Morning, Sweetie" and "What a Good
Boy!" were obviously unfamiliar words. Just a look in his direction, and he'd
saturate the towel in his crate. In just a few short weeks, he's made tremendous
strides in building his confidence, and it's now completely dry. He is housebroken,
and will go to the door to signal.
Perry is
extremely gentle, affectionate, is generous with kissies, and is very comfy on laps!
He would probably do well with calm older children and would especially enjoy another
doggiepal. He may be a little shy on first approach, but warms up very quickly. He
has never shown an ounce of aggression, and will allow us to remove his food or a
toy. He's well behaved and doesn't yank on the leash.
He loves to romp, run and play! He'll need a fenced yard - this is probably why he
was found as a stray, as he's so sweet, we doubt anyone would intentionally have
let him go. He'll grab anything and prance around the yard with a big smile - a ball,
a leaf, a stick, even a tree branch. His puppy playfulness and sunny disposition
lead us to believe he's much closer to 2 than 4.
Perry was fostered by Cocker Angel Sue.
