Maxine
is an approximately 18 month old red and white girl with a natural tail. She is spayed,
vet checked, heartworm negative, and current on shots.
She was surrendered to an all-breed rescue group because of her owner's terminal
illness. That group gave her to Cocker Rescue. She was placed briefly but did not
do well in an urban environment.
Maxine had
not had a haircut before coming into Rescue and her ears and legs were somewhat matted.
We were able to save most of her coat. Although she shouldn't need extensive (or
expensive) grooming, she will need regular brushing and scissor trims to keep any
matting in check. She's a bit fidgetey with trimming, but we got the job done.
Maxine loves to run, sniff and play and would like a fenced yard. A tennis ball is
a must, or a tied sock, or an old plastic milk bottle, or whatever's available!
She gets along fine with her foster fursister, and is too busy playing to notice
the cat.
Maxine could use some "finishing school". She's anxious to learn &
is coming along well. She keeps her crate clean and hasn't messed once inside, but
she may need some housebreaking help. She's doing better on the leash, too.
Maxine is a sweet little girl. She is a little cautious if grabbed at, but hasn't
shown us any grumpy tendencies; but since she hasn't been exposed to toddlers, we'd
suggest she be placed with adults/school aged children.
She was fostered by Cocker Angel Sue.
