Golda is an approximately 6 year old spayed buff girl. She is current on shots,
microchipped, heartworm negative and will be vet checked.
She had been surrendered to an urban shelter with the notation "15 month old
child." We have no idea whether it meant the owner didn't have time for both
her and a child or she wasn't good with the child or the child was allergic to her
or she was allergic to the child.
It appears as though Golda had been cut down several months ago. Her hair had regrown
to the point where we could pattern it somewhat - and she behaved fine for that.
She wiggled and wiggled for getting her toenails cut then jumped off the grooming
table - at which point she came nose-to-nose with the cat. It was difficult to tell
whether the cat was not of interest or she was so intent on escape that she didn't
notice that this was another species. But the significant fact is that she didn't
show any aggression to either the cat or the toenail cutter!
Golda is a busybody. She has to check out everything and everybody.
Although she tends to talk to other dogs when she's in her crate and they're outside,
when she's out too she doesn't seem to dislike other dogs. We don't know whether
she would be happy living with another dog.
She is housebroken and crate trained. She likes to run on her Flexi and check out
the yard.
Golda is a lot of fun and seems to have a good personality. We haven't seen any behavior
which would cause us concern, but because of the ambiguous comment on her surrender
form, we will not place her in a home with a toddler.
