Espresso
is a 2 year old neutered black boy. He is current on shots, and vet checked.
He and
Demitasse had been surrendered to a shelter by a breeder because they were heartworm
positive and the breeder didn't want to bother treating them. They remained in foster
care for many months while undergoing treatment but now they are clear and ready
to go .Espresso was a joy to groom. He doesn't have an over abundance of body coat, but he let us clean up his face without any protest.
This is a sweet little boy. He is affectionate to people, despite the fact that he had apparently lived much of his life in an outdoor kennel. He is learning about the creature comforts called a house. During his heartworm treatment he needed to be kept confined and quiet, so any attempts at housebreaking have had to be delayed. He needs to go to someone with the patience and understanding to help him learn where to potty.
His leash manners are improving and he's fine with other dogs.
Rescue will not place him in a family with small children because he doesn't have the life experiences or confidence to deal with them.
