Clyde is
a 2 year old neutered faintly marked brown and tan boy. He is current on shots, vet
checked and on heartworm preventative.

He was surrendered directly to Rescue. Seems as though an elderly lady had purchased
him as a puppy. Then a year later she purchased a female puppy. Then she realized
that she was no longer able to care for the dogs - so she kept the other dog and
got rid of Clyde.
Clyde came
to us groomed (sort of). Whoever did it had obviously never read the Cocker Standard
- and had no idea of what the function of a Cocker is (hint - it's a sporting dog).
All the hair which would have protected his torso had been shaved off - and a "lunatic
fringe" adorned his belly and legs - just ready to pick up every leaf and twig
as he walked by. We removed what hair didn't belong - but couldn't put back what
wasn't there. He behaved marvelously for this. His belly coat was curly, and had
already started to mat, so there is a good possibility that he would be best kept
cut fairly short.
He appears
to be housebroken and is crate trained.
Clyde runs up to strangers, butt wagging. It's like he's looking for his old family
- but when they aren't there, he'll give kisses and cuddle up to someone else.
He is very nosy - and tries to check out every nook and cranny. And he'll bark at
anything which has moved since the last time he saw it. Then he realizes how silly
he's being and quiets down.
He isn't particularly interested in chewing on toys, but he likes to play with other
dogs. He's sniffed the cats and just gave a look of "you've got to be kidding"
when the brazen cat jumped up and joined him on the grooming table.
Clyde seems to have a good temperament. But because he came from an adult home, we
would hesitate to ask him to deal with a house full of toddlers.
