When you're doing Rescue, the minute you think your head is above water, rest assured a crisis is going to hit.


These rescues have a few things in common:

• the dogs frequently have to get out of a bad situation at a moment's notice
  
  
• the dogs usually haven't been especially well cared for
  
  
• the dogs are usually intact breeding stock
  
  
• the numbers involved usually dictate that various rescues are going to have to pitch in and help

Rescue groups from the entire East Coast have worked together in taking custody of, cleaning up and taking foster dogs from each other in order to equalize the load. In many cases judges and professional handlers on the show circuit have assisted with moving the dogs or with temporarily kenneling them. And American Spaniel Club has assisted financially with some of the medical expenses.
