Making JJ Jr. Dual Grand Nite was a dream come true for me. I bought a male pup by Dual Gr. Nite Key's Outlaw Jesse James and out of Dual Gr. Nite Ch. Wright's Little Girl II. This pup was outstanding at 7 months of age but at 14 months of age he was hit by a car and killed while hunting. He died in my arms. It was as if he was waiting for me to get there for him.
I finally managed to talk Alton out of JJ Sr. and Little Girl II. I repeated the breeding that produced the pup that was killed. I kept JJ and sold the other male and female. I never would have done that had I known that shortly after JJ Sr. would also be struck by a car and killed while hunting. This was a very sad moment for me.
I've sat back and listened to people say that the Outlaw dogs are mean and that included JJ Jr. He was never written up for fighting but a Walker dog did put several holes in his ears and on his side one night at a hunt while treeing. The Walker got scratched and JJ Jr. went on to win his cast.
Only God knows how many times I have walked away when I've heard somebody say he was mean to keep from getting into an argument.
There wasn't a mean bone in his body, and he was one of my wife's favorite hounds. She brought him in the house a whole lot along with her shelties. She loved to see the pups crawl all over him and he never so much as snarled at them. He even tolerated her obnoxious male that thinks he's king of the pack. He would run up to her whenever he saw her as he knew he would get a treat. We could do anything with this dog. He was not only a fantastic hunting dog, excellent representation of the Redbone breed but most of all my best companion. He left a big hole in both our hearts. No dog will replace him for me.

the softness, gentleness, and intelligence in his eyes.
